Inspired by the ongoing movement for equality, I crafted this piece using figurines made of black clay and white porcelain. The prominent presence of large, rusted nails symbolizes the gradual disintegration of divisions, akin to a fence, between white and black communities. The century-old barn boards, antique iron square-headed nails, black and porcelain clay, and Raku-fired clay used in this composition all contribute to the layers of meaning, expressing the timeless pursuit of unity in diversity.
